For more than thirty years the men, women and toys on Playschool have entertained Australian toddlers. The youngsters who watched the programme in its early years are now grown up, many with children of their own who now watch the same show. For all its longevity, Playschool's basic format has not changed - half an hour of songs, stories and simple crafts, presented by two smiling presenters. Off screen, the long tradition of excellent entertainment products also continues with the release of Playschool's latest CD, Hip, Hip, Hooray. The new generation of presenters - Matt, Karen, Jay, Leah, Rhys, Simon and Justine - present 50 songs sure to delight their young fans. With all the popular songs which youngsters will recognise from the television show - including the Play School theme, and perennial favourites like "Shoo Fly", "Der Glumph" and "Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear" - as well as some newer numbers, kids will dance and sing along. Adults will find themselves joining in, too. Hip Hip Hooray is available now from all ABC Shops and Centres and wherever good kids' music is sold.
