DVD Review: The Hard Word
by Sally Murphy

All it takes is a little persuasion.

The Twentyman brothers are masters of their craft - armed robbery. It is a vocation and they practice it to perfection. The only rule they follow is that, when they do a job, no one gets hurt.

While the brothers - Dale (Guy Pearce), Mal (Damien Richardson) and Shane (Joel Edgerton) - are in prison, their lawyer Frank Malone (Robert Taylor) keeps the firm running. He has an extensive network of contacts. He also has very special contact with Dale's wife, Carol (Rachel Griffiths).

He lines the boys up one final job - enough to give them all freedom and wealth. But when it goes wrong, the boys come to realise just how little they can trust Frank.

The Hard Word is gripping thriller showcasing a great mix of Aussie talent. With tension, excitement and laughs, this hard-hitting flick is good viewing.

The DVD contains extra features including interviews with cast and creators, isolated music score, allowing the film to be viewed without dialogue and a commentary by writer/director Scott Roberts.
