DVD Review: Kath and Kim
Reviewed by Sally Murphy

Ny-oice, un-ewes-yewl but stewpid.

Kath and Kim attracted a cult following when it aired on ABC television in 2002. The final episode attracted the biggest ever audience to an ABC Comedy series, with 1.61 million viewers tuning in. Now, the complete series is available in a double DVD set.

For those who have not seen the series, Kath (Jane Turner) is a forty something single lady who likes to keep herself loking good and considers herself 'high-maintenance'. Her daughter Kim (Gina Riley), has recently separated from her hsuband Brett (Peter Rowsthorn) and consoles herself by stuffing her face, and pouting eloquently. The pair are joined by Kath's fiance Kel (Glenn Robbins), Kim's second best friend Sharon (Magda Szubanski) and Brett.

Kath and Kim are too awful to be true, and yet the humour of the show comes from the fine line between the too-funny-to-be-true and the too-true-to-be-funny.

Extra features on the DVD include over an hour of bonus footage - bloopers, Wine Time Philosophy, Brett and Kim's Connubials - and more.
