DVD Review: Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
Reviewed by Sally Murphy

10th Anniversary Collector's Edition.

When The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert was filmed ten years ago, few could have forseen its phenomenal success. When it was shown at Cannes in 1994 it was awarded the Audience Award for Most Popular Film. Since then it has been watched and rewatched as a cult movie around Australia and around the world.

The release of the 10th anniversary Special Collector's edition DVD celebrates 10 years since filming began on September 13, 1993. With special features including audio commentary from writer/director Stephan Elliott, deleted scenes, cast and crew biographies, theatre trailers and more.

For those who have somehow missed the original, it tells the story of two drag queens and a transexual travelling across the Australian Outback. The story, the music, the scenery and the stars - Terence Stamp, Hugo Weaving and Guy Pearce - all merged to make the film a classic.

No fan will want to be without this one.
