CD Review: Ring-a-ring-o'roses, with George Spartels
Reviewed by Sally Murphy

Action rhymes and fingerplays for littlies.

George Spartels is one of Australia's best known and loved entertainers. Although he is no longer appearing on Play School (except on reruns of old episodes), Spartels conitnues to entertain. His latest CD offering is a collection of rhymes and fingerplays aimed at the very young.

Featuring favourite rhymes such as Head and Shoulders, Knees and Toes, This Little Piggy and, as the title of the CD suggests, Ring-a-ring-o'roses, less known rhymes are also included. These include Five Plum Peas in a Peapod Pressed and A Ball for Baby.

Parents who don't know these rhymes will be grateful for the accompanying booklet which includes all the lyrics as well as directions for the figerplays and actions, which make the booklet a stand alone feature.

Perfect for at home fun, this would also be a great one to take on long car trips and would be a great aid in classrooms and childcare centres.
