The magic of a music box is something guaranteed to fascinate young children. The tinkling tunes and the tiny ballerina are fascinating to girls and boys. In Ballet Dancer, composer and conductor Sean O'Boyle attempts to capture some of this magic by combining classical ballet pieces with the tinkling sounds of the music box. The fourteen tunes include well-known classical numbers such as Strauss's Blue Danube and the famous Music Box Dancer, as well as a version of ABBA's Dancing Queen and two orginal compositions which show O'Boyle's talents as a composer. The tinkling tunes will captivate young grils and have them twirling and whirling like 'real' ballet dancers. Little boys will be intrigued, too. This would be lovely music for a preprimary or childcare centre and also, at home, for rest time. Ballet Dancer, ABC For Kids, 2005 |
